Danny Minnick
Gallery 33 is pleased to present Danny Minnick - 20/26. Acclaimed Los Angeles-based artist, Danny Minnick is to showcase a transformative collection of large-scale canvases that bridge the gap between street energy and fine art sophistication. Born in Seattle, Washington, Minnick is revered as a multi-hyphenated creative, with aptitudes spanning Neo-Expressionist painter, professional skateboarder, skateboard cinematographer, actor, and director.
Minnick’s work is characterized by bold, instinctive layers of color and line, with his painting style moving fluidly between abstraction and figuration. Stylized skeletons with a "plus" sign in the torso frequent his work, as a global symbol of positive energy and human will. Often described as a "free-flow" of ideas, his work results in complex compositions that convey a formidable aesthetic presence and a deeply visceral experience for the viewer.
20/26 marks a pivotal chapter in Minnick’s career, documenting a six-year continuum of personal and global flux. The exhibition presents a "Periodic Table" of the elements that frame Minnick’s life: process, family, and the hard-won clarity of sobriety. This latest body of work, also tackles the looming shadow of A.I. and invites audiences to witness a "resurrection" in real-time - a collection that finds closure in the past while moving fluidly into the future. The exhibition features 7 canvases with some being created specifically for this show.
In addition to many international exhibitions, Minnick’s works are held in elite private collections - including those of Jessica Alba, LeBron James, and Gus Van Sant, and can be found in landmark public spaces such as Miami’s Wynwood Walls, Banksy’s Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem, and London’s Barbican Underground Station. For Minnick, drawing has always been second nature, as he could easily sketch out his favorite cartoon characters when he was only in 3rd grade. Later in life, he began experimenting with painting, and his interest quickly transformed into a career, which he attributes his success to “karma, fate and a lot of hard work”.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
