Thierry Lefort

A self-taught artist influenced by Chinese calligraphy and Cézanne’s devotion to structure and sensation, Lefort transcends traditional landscape. His compositions are meditative, minimalistic, and deeply rooted in Zen-like observation. As he says, “To paint from nature is not to copy; it is to realize one’s sensations.”

This marks Thierry Lefort’s second solo show in Los Angeles. His work has been exhibited internationally, including in Paris, Tokyo, New York, and Bordeaux, and is held in private and museum collections across Europe, the U.S., and Russia.

This striking showcase centers on Lefort’s personal vision of California through his distinctive Blue Series—featuring atmospheric depictions of Los Angeles infused with emotion, geometry, and light. The exhibition also unveils Bleu Californien Lefort, a custom shade created by the artist for the historic French paint house LeFranc Bourgeois. This exclusive color, inspired by the dynamic interplay of natural and man-made light in L.A., mirrors the iconic exterior of The Georgian Hotel.

Known for his mastery of subtle tones and his ability to distill the poetic from the everyday, Lefort’s work captures both the visible and invisible layers of Los Angeles. From empty palm-lined streets to hidden architectural forms, his paintings reveal an unusual and evocative perspective of the city.

Make it stand out

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
