Pomegranate Moon

Gallery 33 is pleased to present:

Pomegranate Moon proposes a rupture within these inherited symbolic systems. The installation posits the exhaustion of mythological tropes that have historically relied on female sacrifice to sustain their moral and narrative coherence. By recontextualizing these mythic objects and allowing the female figure to consume fruit without spectacle, shame, or consequence, the work destabilizes the ethical frameworks underpinning these canonical stories.

Ultimately, the installation interrogates what becomes possible when women reject the mythic roles imposed upon them—when the fruit is no longer forbidden, the muse is no longer instrumentalized, and narrative meaning is no longer produced through female suffering or exploitation.

The exhibition is curated by Gallery 33 Creative Director Amber Arbucci and Margot Ross of Show Gallery.
